You’ll even find our products in some of Europe’s most famous sporting venues: the hallowed turf of the Stade de France and Parc des Princes stadiums in Paris were seeded with RAGT grass varieties and the iconic greens of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club in St Andrew’s were planted with RAGT amenity grasses.

RAGT was founded in 1919 by farmers in Aveyron whose families remain shareholders to this day. The company’s continuing success derives from maintaining a local approach to the business while conducting ground-breaking research and development on an international scale. As a result, RAGT is firmly established in all the major agricultural areas of Europe.

Named after the four regions in southern France where the company has its origins: Rouergue, Auvergne, Gévaudan and Tarnais, RAGT is deeply rooted in agricultural tradition. Run by farmers for farmers, the company continues to embrace its founding principles of innovation ambition and a spirit of competition to remain ahead of the game.

By taking a long-term approach to growing the business and striving to recruit and retain the most talented, experienced scientific staff, RAGT has built up an enviable reputation for excellence among the agricultural and related industries.

RAGT invests more than 15 per cent of its turnover in research and development and
by consistently developing and growing outstanding varieties such as RGT Skyfall, RGT Rubisko, RGT Reform, RGT Illustrious and RGT Planet, we maintain our market-leading positions across Europe.

From maize, sunflower and sorghum to forage grass, soil health plants and legumes our scientists and researchers typically register more than 200 new varieties across 24 different crop species each year.
